About Us

Powers Interactive, Inc. seeks to create a network of opportunities for Filipinos to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to get placed into better paying jobs, particularly in the call center industry. The company is primarily an English Learning Center affiliated with John Robert Powers International, well-known throughout Asia for its effective personality development training programs. On the other hand, our young company boasts of skilled and creative individuals who bring their innovative strategies and technical expertise to create systematic solutions to realize our common goals.

Why the Call Center Industry?

The Call Center IndustryWe recognize the large impact that the call center industry has had on our economy. Currently, there are over 1,600 call center companies nationwide with over 200,000 call center employees. Call center employees enjoy higher pay and thus have more lifestyle options than most office workers. The industry also enjoys a rise in clientele resulting in its need to hire new workers periodically. This is one of the major reasons why it has been dubbed the “sunshine industry.”

For these same reasons, we have targeted the call center industry as a rich venue for job opportunities that job applicants can take advantage of.

The Filipino Advantage

The Pinoy AdvantageThe call center industry is aptly named the “sunshine industry” because most foreign companies prefer the services of Filipino call center agents to support their operations. While foreign companies are offering the same services, the Philippine call center industry still enjoys a competitive advantage over others due to several reasons:
  • English proficiency is better than that of foreign competitors
  • Filipinos have a neutral accent which makes it easier to train them for other languages
  • Filipinos are known to be naturally hospitable, respectful, hard working, patient and loyal
  • Cheap cost of living and thus low labor cost

Recruitment Issues

Still, like most industries, the “sunshine industry” is also burdened with its own issues. The biggest one of which is the difficulty of hiring qualified individuals to man its expanding operations. While each company provides training for its recruits, not all trainees are hired; most of them falling off during training with only a handful left in the final stages. Thus, despite the large number of recruits, they are able to hire only a limited number of individuals well-qualified to work in the call center environment.

Creating Opportunities, Providing Solutions

These problems are a result of many factors including the long period of training and the low proficiency in English communication skills. These are major reasons why applicants are not recruited for training. The education system has a lot to do with producing graduates who have low English proficiency skills and knowledge. This also means that the opportunity for getting jobs is lost to a large number of job applicants. Thus, the challenge is to provide an intervening mechanism that provides these individuals with the proper venue to develop the skills necessary to perform well in the call center environment and to actually get jobs in these companies. Powers Interactive, Inc. has taken on this challenge as an opportunity to provide solutions that benefit both job applicants and call center companies.

Our Vision

Powers Interactive, Inc. envisions itself as a primary online and classroom learning service provider for potential job applicants as well as a provider of human resource solutions to partner call center companies. Part of its vision is to expand its services to provide training services for other industries as well.

Our Mission

We have made it our core goal to create a network of opportunities for both job applicants and call center companies through three primary strategies: (a) Provide a range of training programs online and in classrooms to cater to the different individual needs of job applicants at affordable prices. (b) Place applicants in call center jobs (or other high paying jobs) after their training. (c) At the same time, help call center companies acquire qualified applicants at reduced cost.

Advocacy

As part of our goal to create a network of opportunities for Filipino workers, we have made it our advocacy to make our system accessible to everyone not only by their own efforts but by reaching out to them through barangay job fairs, internet café job fairs, as well as job fairs in schools and other institutions and places where our representatives can help the unemployed to train and get better jobs.

Future Expansion

To fully realize our goals, we will be putting up facilities in strategic areas within the country so that interested applicants can conveniently come in to our classrooms and start their training. In addition, we will be tapping local internet café’s as network affiliates to serve as convenient access points for applicants to easily log in to our online learning system.
